Products Description
Bottom Web and Top Web: How the Two Films Work Together?
A thermoforming packaging machine runs two rolls of film at the same time. The bottom web is formed into a cavity that holds the product, and the top web is sealed on top to close the pack. The two sealing layers must be compatible. If they are not, the pack may leak or peel unevenly.
Film Structures We Supply?
All structures are co-extruded in 7, 9 or 11 layers.

- Automotive carpet lamination (3,000 mm wide film)
How to Choose the Right Forming Film
- Draw depth. Deeper pockets need thicker, more elastic film so the corners do not thin out.
- Barrier. Your shelf life and packing method (vacuum, MAP or retort) decide whether you need an EVOH layer.
- Sealing layer. It must match your top web: PE seals to PE, and PP seals to PP.
- Machine. Tell us your machine model, web width and forming temperature.
- Product. Bone-in or hard products need a film with higher puncture resistance.

FAQ
What is a bottom web?
The bottom web is the film fed from the lower roll of a thermoforming packaging machine. It is heated and formed into pockets that hold the product.
What is the difference between forming film and non-forming film?
Forming film is made to stretch into a cavity under heat. Non-forming film stays flat and is used as the top web that closes the pack.
Can you supply a matching top web?
Yes. We supply bottom web and top web as a pair, with sealing layers matched to each other.
What information do you need for a quote?
Your product, packing method (vacuum, MAP or retort), draw depth, machine model, web width, thickness and monthly volume.
What is your lead time?
2–3 days for stock film, and from 1 week for custom film.
Do you provide samples?
Yes we can provide sample for free.
