The simplest method for skin packaging film involves three core steps: preparation, packaging, and edge sealing. It can be completed without complicated tools.
Preparation:
1) Select the appropriate size skin packaging film based on the size and weight of the item to be packaged. PE material with a thickness of 0.03-0.05mm is recommended due to its strong toughness and easy application.
2) Prepare a utility knife or scissors, a heat gun (which can be replaced with a high-temperature setting on a hair dryer), heavy objects such as books or bricks, and a cleaning cloth.
Packaging:
1) Place the item to be packaged on a flat, clean surface. Gently press the bottom edge of the item with a heavy object to prevent movement.
2) Take a piece of packaging film slightly larger than the item's size and slowly unfold it from the top, ensuring the film completely covers the item and the surrounding 5-10cm area.
3) Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the film evenly from the center outwards, while gently pressing the film to ensure it adheres tightly to the item's surface. Maintain a distance of 15-20cm between the heat gun and the film during heating to avoid tearing.
Edge Sealing
1) After the film has cooled and set, use a utility knife to trim any excess film along the bottom edge of the item, ensuring the edges are neat.
2) For moisture protection, seal the overlapping edges of the film with transparent tape, or use a hot air gun to locally heat the edges to allow them to adhere naturally.
Note: Avoid focusing heat on the same spot for extended periods to prevent film deformation or damage. For sharp items, it is recommended to wrap them with a cushioning material such as bubble wrap before applying the packaging to prevent puncturing the film.
