From a material perspective, high-quality retort pouches use high-performance plastic films such as polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET), etc. These materials have good heat resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance, maintaining stability under high-temperature retorting conditions and thus a relatively long lifespan. If inferior materials are used, problems such as aging and cracking may occur in a shorter period, significantly reducing the lifespan.
Regarding the usage environment, if retort pouches are frequently exposed to harsh environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and strong ultraviolet radiation, their lifespan will be significantly shortened. For example, retort pouches placed near high-temperature areas such as stoves in the kitchen or exposed to sunlight will age faster.
Furthermore, storage methods also affect the lifespan of retort pouches. Avoid storing retort pouches in humid, high-temperature, or odorous places. Keep them dry, clean, and well-ventilated.
Under normal use and storage conditions, a good quality retort pouch will have a lifespan of no less than 5 years, and in ideal environments, it can even reach more than 10 years. However, improper use and storage may cause problems within 2-3 years.
